A Tribute to Esfandiar Monfaredzadeh documents an evening built around the composer whose scores — Qeysar, Dash Akol, Tangna, Gavaznha — shaped the sound of a generation of Iranian cinema. A full orchestra and choir share the stage with santoor, daf and hand percussion, and songs an audience has carried for fifty years come back to them in a darkened hall.
